1980-81 Topps Hockey Cards
The 1980-81 Topps Hockey set consists of 264 standard sized cards, that were issued in 2 series. Known as the "scratch-off' set, because the player's name is obscured by a black disk, that could be removed with a coin. The only way to discover the players' names is to scratch-off the black disk, that resembles a hockey puck.
The only 1980-81 Topps Hockey cards that do not have the black scratch-off area, are the last three cards in the set, numbers 263, 264 & 265, and the 2 checklists. The set contains cards of 7 players from USA 1980 Olympic Team that won the gold medal. The set also has major centering issues.
Grading Note: Cards with the black disk removed, are considered to have a "Minor Flaw" and are lowered by one grade, assuming the scratching process did not damage the card.
