1960 Fleer Baseball
The 1960 Fleer Baseball Greats has 79 standard size baseball cards and showcases the great players from the first half of the 20th Century. This was Fleer's first real baseball card set and one of the first "retro" sets.
The 1960 Fleer Baseball Greats was designed as a set of 80 cards, and to include Pepper Martin, but Martin's card was never issued because of contract issues. A card #80 was printed with card fronts featuring Lefty Grove, Eddie Collins, and Joe Tinker - creating some extremely rare error cards. These cards have the stats and bio of Pepper Martin on the back. Never meant to be circulated, only a few of these cards into circulation.
